Integrating Zoom Chat
Deliver Access Audience notifications to Zoom Chat using an incoming webhook — so your team sees updates where they already collaborate.
Step-by-step guide
How it works
Zoom Chat receives notifications through Zoom's Incoming Webhooks app. You install that app in your Zoom account, create a connection with a short slash command, then paste the webhook URL and verification token into Access Audience. After that, you choose which notification events should post to Zoom under your general notification settings.
Step 1: Open Zoom Chat in Access Audience
In Access Audience, go to Settings → Integrations and open the Zoom Chat section. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the Incoming Webhooks app in Zoom if it is not already installed for your workspace.
Step 2: Create the webhook connection in Zoom
In Zoom Chat, use the Incoming Webhooks app and run:
/inc connection AccessAudience
Zoom responds with a message that includes the webhook URL and verification token you need. Copy both values into the corresponding fields in Access Audience on the Zoom Chat integration screen.
Step 3: Verify the connection
After saving in Access Audience, use Send test message (or the equivalent control on the integration card) to confirm Zoom receives a test notification. If the message appears in Zoom Chat, the webhook is wired correctly.
Step 4: Enable Zoom for notification events
Go to Settings → General → Notifications and Inbox. For each event you want delivered to Zoom, enable the Zoom Chat option alongside in-app or email, as needed. See the Configuring notifications guide for a full list of events and suggested setups.
Troubleshooting
- Test message fails — Double-check the webhook URL and verification token for typos, and confirm the Incoming Webhooks app is installed and the slash command completed successfully in Zoom.
- No notifications in Zoom — Ensure Zoom Chat is enabled for those events under Notifications and Inbox, and that the integration still shows as connected in Integrations.
